Watching wild flames in a contained environment can be highly erotic. Sometimes the flames mimic how our passions flare up and play out. It’s always unpredictable and often hard to control. Maybe your story is about such a passion, how the lust heats up between two, or more, characters. Perhaps it’s about actual fire play with candles or other, more intense equipment.
